TUWUW originally started as “Tell Us What You Want” with the goal to be a company that delivers products that our community wants. It is pronounced To Woo, which means to invite or attract someone. Like many things, TUWUW has evolved, and with our launch of TUWUW Bites, you might think it means “Take Us With You Wherever”. But we’ve heard many variations of what it could stand for like:

TUWUW bites do not have any chemical preservatives.

The added sugars in our recipe come from organic cane sugar. We avoided beet cane sugar due to the bitterness in flavor. This added sugar provides a desirable taste for your sweet tooth, as well as the energy necessary for whichever adventure you choose.

For active people, cane sugar is a good source for quick energy due to its moderate glycemic index. We aimed for a 3:1 carb to protein ratio. This ratio is consistently shown to be optimal for muscle recovery post workout and for lean muscle gain for the endurance workout.

• All flavors of TUWUW are soy-free, gluten-free and vegetarian.
• All our flavors have a small amount of nonfat dry milk powder in the chocolate coating so they are not dairy-free or vegan.
• Our peanut butter flavor contains peanuts.
• TUWUW is made in a facility that also processes eggs, tree nuts, peanuts, wheat and soybeans.

NO! While 90% of the canola seeds produced in the US and Canada are GMO, our canola protein is sourced from a non-GMO crop of canola seeds. The rest of our ingredients are also non-GMO.

The ingredients we use in our products are all gluten free.

Our cane sugar, ashwagandha, and proprietary fruit and vegetable blend are all from organic sources.

In addition, most of our ingredients have Kosher or Halal certifications.

Ashwagandha is a well-studied adaptogen known for its body-centering power.

Most supplements contain between 2-5% withanolides – which is the active component that provides the desired benefits. Our ashwagandha contains a whopping 10%!

Ashwagandha has many benefits including mood-boosting and energy-stimulating properties, it is rich in antioxidants, has anti-inflammatory properties, helps regulate your metabolism, and improves sleep quality. It is a well rounded, well studied plant used across the globe, and for good reason.

What better way to round out a delicious power-packed snack than with a fungus used for centuries in eastern medicine for its athletic-boosting and immune-supporting properties?

Non-human studies have shown that cordyceps may increase ATP production (the main source of energy), reduce lactic acid buildup (alleviating muscle fatigue), and may have an anti-inflammatory effect.

No. It’s made with the protein extracted from the canola seed. It turns out the canola seed is tiny but mighty!

Instead of discarding the canola seed once the oil is squeezed from it, you can extract the protein in the seed that’s leftover. Using a clean extraction method, our canola seed protein is highly concentrated and has high bioavailability; which allows for maximum absorption in the body. It’s the perfect, well-balanced protein, providing optimal fuel for your next trek.

There is a negligible amount of caffeine in our Bites attributed to the cocoa in the chocolatey coating.

Our Coffee flavor has microground coffee and coffee extract in the ingredients, which amounts roughly to the caffeine in a half a cup of coffee.

This means the energy you get from our Bites is not from caffeine, but from the vitamins, botanicals, protein and other high-quality ingredients included in our formula.

TUWUW Bites have a tested shelf life of approximately 12 months.

Although our chocolatey coating has a greater heat tolerance than most chocolates, with a melt point of around 90°F, we do recommend storing in a cool, dry place (not in your hot car!).

WARM WEATHER NOTICE: During warmer months, our tasty Bites may get a little melty during shipment and clump together. Rest assured they are still great to eat! Pop them in the fridge, let the chocolate harden, then shake the pouch to help the Bites breakup.
